Job summary
GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Battery Controls Engineer to join the ERS Team in Concord, NC. You will develop embedded software for the HV battery management system, implementing real-time control algorithms for protection, SOC, and SOH while collaborating with controls and electrical hardware teams to ensure cohesive operation.
The role requires strong C/C++ expertise, RTOS, MiL/SiL/HiL testing, and knowledge of CAN/CAN FD, Ethernet, and other protocols.
Qualifications
- Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor's with 5+ years embedded software experience.
- Expertise in battery management systems and battery control algorithms, such as protection/derating, SOC, and SOH.
- Familiarity with HV battery physics, high voltage systems, and relevant safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for HV battery management in C/C++ and RT languages.
- Implement sensor data acquisition, HALs, real-time comms, and diagnostics features.
- Perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing and trackside support; create unit tests and robust codebases.
