Job summary

Hotel Zena is seeking a Steward/Potwasher/Warewasher to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and related areas. Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, storage areas, and assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

The role requires standing for long periods, heavy lifting, and effective communication with staff and guests. This position supports kitchen staff and ensures a safe, clean environment in a dynamic hotel setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work – exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchens, back dock, dumpster and utility areas.
• Perform heavy cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, and other equipment.
• Wash pots, pans and utensils and ensure sanitation.
• Sweep, mop and wash floors in kitchens and dining areas.
• Assist with proper food storage and rotation.
