Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking an Hospitality Operations Specialist to own food and beverage strategy and delivery for a dedicated account, from menu concepts through banquet event orders, onsite execution, and final reconciliation.

The role requires five or more years of F&B management for large corporate events, strong negotiation and budgeting skills, and the ability to coordinate with venues, the Experience Studio team, and executives.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years managing food and beverage for large corporate meetings and events.
  • Fluency with banquet event orders, guarantees, attrition clauses, service charges, and how catering contracts bill.
  • Experience owning a food and beverage budget line and reconciling it.
  • Ability to negotiate with venues and read venue contracts.
  • Experience in venue/supplier sourcing, RFP responses, or cost models.
  • Knowledge of room sets, show flow, schedules, labor rules.
  • Strong written communication.
  • Strong client presence and ability to present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Independent and organized; ability to split time between a dedicated account and studio work.
  • Preferred: CMP/CPCE or related credential.

Responsibilities

  • Own the food and beverage plan for every program on the dedicated account, with menus and beverage strategy aligned to program objectives and budget.
  • Serve as primary contact for hotel and venue catering teams, review and approve banquet event orders, and ensure venues meet terms.
  • Manage dietary, allergen, and accessibility requirements across every function, from intake through onsite verification.
  • Track guarantees and consumption vs. minimums; surface financial exposure before it becomes a charge.
  • Negotiate minimums, service charges, corkage, and labor fees; lead the F&B budget line and reconcile invoices.
  • Lead onsite F&B execution across sessions, breakouts, receptions, and hospitality functions.
  • Support venue and supplier sourcing for studio programs from RFP through contract handoff, owning catering terms.
  • Contribute F&B content and cost modeling to proposals in partnership with the Global Event Proposal Team.
  • Lead operations projects sponsored by Head of Event Operations from brief to delivery.
  • Build and maintain F&B standards and supplier references, aligning milestones with coordinators and leads.
