Job summary

Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course in Youngstown, OH is hiring for a food service/customer service role. The position involves taking orders, processing payments, delivering orders, and maintaining a clean dining area.

You will stock and rotate food, ensure sanitation, and coordinate with the culinary team to meet guest demand. The role requires at least a High School diploma and six months of experience in food or customer service with cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Interacting with guests and co‑workers in a helpful, positive, upbeat, and professional manner while taking food/beverage orders, accepting payment through cash, credit, check and comps, delivery of order to guests, and bussing and cleaning of dining area.
• Monitoring and replenishing all food products in work area by stocking counters and displays in a neat, accurate and timely fashion.
• Ensuring work area is neat, clean and sanitized before and throughout shift by wiping counter areas, beverage stations, sinks, and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe workstation.
• Ensuring and monitoring rotation and quality of product for appearance and safe holding temperature and proper storage of prepared foods under refrigeration with product, date and proper storage containers to minimize waste and spoilage and ensure quality attractiveness.
• Partnering with culinary team to ensure coordinated workflow during shift to meet business demands and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining all equipment in proper fashion.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience

High School diploma; Six month’s experience in food or customer service field with cash handling preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
