HRB is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support for the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office (PMA-226). The role focuses on developing repairs and modifications to F-5N+/F+ aircraft while ensuring compliance with FAA/NAVAIR airworthiness requirements and MIL-STDs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience developing modifications to military or commercial aircraft.
  • Experience with FAA or NAVAIR Airworthiness requirements.
  • Knowledge of DoD MIL-STDs and commercial standards in mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of military or commercial maintenance publications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering support to PMA-226 lead engineer.
  • Develop mechanical repairs and modifications for the F-5N+/F+ aircraft.
  • Coordinate technical discrepancy requests across PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and vendors.
  • Support in-service tasks for adversary aircraft and sustainment programs.
  • Maintain familiarity with drawings, repair dispositions, analyses, and SOWs.

Experience:
  • 10+ years’ experiencedeveloping modifications to military or commercial aircraft including design and substantiation.
  • Experience in FAA or NAVAIR Airworthiness requirements related to aircraft structural integrity.
  • Knowledge of and experience with DoD (MIL-STDs) and commercial standards in mechanical design
  • Knowledge of and experience with military (or commercial) operational manuals, and maintenance/sustainment technical publications
  • Strong communications skills and work ethic.
Position Description:
  • Provides mechanical engineering support to F-5 Systems Lead Engineer within the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office, PMA-226.
  • Develops mechanical repairs and modifications of the F-5N+/F+ aircraft and utilizes design and analysis methods adhering to NAVAIR structural Integrity and Airworthiness requirements.
  • Supports Subject Matter Experts in developing technical responses for respective organizations and engineering domains including but not limited to; Structures, Mechanisms, and Flight Controls.
  • As directed, coordinates and triages mechanical technical discrepancy requests between the PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and contracted services.
  • Performs various in-service tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of Adversary aircraft, weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs.
  • Develops, reviews, analyzes, and maintains familiarity with keytechnical engineering products(including drawings, repair dispositions, and analyses) as well as programcontractual documents(including Statements of Work [SOW]).
Salary:

The projected salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $124,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary. Salary will be set based on experience and contractual requirements.
