F-35 Maintenance Systems (Mx Sys) Systems Engineer
Location: Arlington, VA (Crystal City)
Base pay range: $130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
- Assist with establishing mid‑term and long‑term strategic engineering initiatives
- Coordinate closely with Mx Sys PMO technical staff, the prime contractor, and others to collaborate on systems architecture efforts
- Develop a PMO roadmap integrating key data from various internal and external resources (GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc.) and automate future iterations
- Support partner and prime integrator management discussions, and assist with briefings for Mx S leadership
- Provide and prepare supporting documentation for the integration of cybersecurity strategy, F‑35 Fleet Management, and other technical dependencies into the Mx S Architecture, Data, and Business Logic models – ensuring the tech stack is updated accordingly
- Model the optimal modernization path forward as defined in the modernization definition (architecture at all layers), re‑evaluating system workflows, standardizing data management, establishing a consistent UI/UX framework, and building a robust business layer that incorporates modern architecture (e.g., domain and test‑driven development, automated pipeline testing policy and quality standards)
- Assist the Mx Sys Chief Architect to produce a Product Specification for as‑delivered ALIS and ODIN products
- Support the development of a System Specification for future versions of ALIS/ODIN
- Coordinate with other internal F‑35 JPO organizations and external organizations to include the Office of the Chief Information Officer and prime support contractors on key engineering initiatives
- Conduct searches for and identify GOTS and COTS products which can be used to replace existing ALIS/ODIN products to reduce cost and improve reliability
- Develop action plans for incorporating software from alternate sources, including ECPs, software sustainment plans, and plans for addressing the interfaces between software from different vendors
Requirements
- SECRET Clearance
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- At least 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering
- Experience with software development practices, including hands‑on full‑stack development
- Solid experience with pipeline development, testing, automation, and CI/CD best practices
- Knowledge of US networking, global information systems, and multi‑server systems (e.g., cloud‑based systems)
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and systems engineering practices
- Knowledge of systems engineering tools and accepted project management techniques, applications, and processes
- Ability to manage and direct a team of engineers and other personnel as an integrated unit
- Ability to prepare and present oral and written presentations to various levels of government and industry management
