Job summary

Cal State East Bay is seeking a Designated School Official (DSO) to advise international students and ensure SEVIS compliance. You will manage F-1 student programs, assist with registrations, OPT, and travel signatures, and coordinate immigration workshops and orientation initiatives.

The role requires strong cross-cultural communication skills, a master’s degree in counseling or related field, and experience in student services with SEVIS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse student populations.
• Ability to advise students individually and in groups on immigration and university policies.
• Strong organizational skills to manage SEVIS reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students.
• Provide guidance on F-1 requests such as registrations, OPT, extensions, and travel signatures.
• Track SEVIS reporting requirements and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate international student services, orientation programs, and immigration workshops.
• Liaise with CSUEB departments to resolve tech or policy-related issues.
