Job summary

McFarland Eye Care is seeking a dedicated surgical scrub tech to support the operating room team at The Surgery Center at The Valley in Little Rock, AR. This role is Monday–Friday with no nights or weekends, and offers paid holidays, comprehensive benefits, PTO and a 401(k) plan.

You will prepare the OR, manage supplies, verify equipment, and assist the surgeon and circulator to maintain a sterile field and smooth workflow. Experience with ophthalmic procedures is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work professionally with the team.
• Typing at least 35 WPM.
• Strong communication with patients and staff.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery following protocols and maintain sterile technique.
• Ensure adequate supplies are available for procedures.
• Turn on and check equipment to ensure it is ready for surgery.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and meds.
• Assist Circulator with equipment preparation and draping.
• Gown and glove surgeon and apply body draping; assist in removing drapes.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization per protocols.
• Dispose of materials properly and prep room for next patient.
• Assist with proofreading surgery charts and prepare new charts.
• Check supplies regularly to avoid outdated items; perform daily checks.
