The role requires 2+ years of surgical scheduling experience in ophthalmology, strong EHR/EMR knowledge, and excellent communication with patients and facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of surgical scheduling experience in ophthalmology or similar clinical setting.
• Strong knowledge of EHR/EMR software and insurance verification workflows.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all administrative and clinical support activities for patient eye surgeries (cataract, glaucoma, retina, LASIK).
• Optimize surgical block time, manage provider schedules, and maintain active waitlists.
• Coordinate pre-op testing, medical clearances, and necessary equipment like IOLs.
• Partner with billing and revenue cycle teams to verify insurance, secure prior authorizations, and provide financial cost estimates to patients.
• Serve as the main contact for patients, families, and surgical facilities to ensure clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
