Midwest Eye Consultants in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Laboratory/Clinical Technician to support doctors with patient examinations and testing. The role includes obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary testing, preparing examination rooms, and assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists as needed.

The position emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming office environment and coordinating patient flow and communication throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
• Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
• Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
