Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an ophthalmology support technician to assist physicians during exams and surgeries, maintain patient flow, and ensure accurate documentation. You will administer medications, perform basic testing, and educate patients and families in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Paraprofessional education in ophthalmology or optometry preferred.
• JCAHPO certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting.
• Room and collect patient assessment data; document information accurately.
• Administer medications and assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Support during refractometry, A/B scans, photography, and ocular testing.
• Maintain patient flow and respond to patient needs with professionalism.
