Requirements include high school diploma, CPR certification, and ophthalmic or medical assistant experience preferred. The role is full-time, non-exempt with regular weekday hours and one late evening shift.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ophthalmic or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other sites if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history and chief complaint information.
  • Pre-testing: visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, pupil testing, motilities, peripheral vision, and blood pressure.
  • Instill eye drops and explain side effects.
  • Measure intraocular pressure with iCare or Tonopen.
  • Administer diagnostic tests such as automated visual field testing and OCT.
  • Maintain electronic health records and assist doctor with exams.
  • Facilitate referrals and schedule follow-ups as needed.
  • Perform administrative duties and chart preparation.
