Job summary

Boyd Corp is seeking a Set-Up Technician for its extrusion production line in Elkhart, Indiana. You will ensure correct machine setup, address issues, document reports, and support a team of operators while managing rotations and downtime.

The role requires a High School Diploma, knowledge of plastic extrusion, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand 10 hours. Lean manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of plastic extrusion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for a 10-hour shift and lift 25–75 lbs.
• Ability to read a work order and use a tape measure within 1/16".

Responsibilities

• Set up extrusion machinery and downstream equipment and tooling.
• Operate extrusion machinery daily with multiple materials and configurations.
• Clean equipment and tools used in the extrusion process.
• Document setup and quality paperwork accurately.
• Identify and correct problems; train others and reduce scrap.
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental compliance.
• Fill in for operators during breaks and rotations.
• Inspect parts for quality and notify issues immediately.
• Report equipment failures to Maintenance.
