Job summary

Boyd Corp is seeking a Manufacturing Set-Up Technician to join the extrusion production team in Elkhart, Indiana. The role ensures correct setup of extrusion equipment and related tooling, while addressing machine issues and documenting changes.

You will support leadership for a team of operators, manage rotations and downtime, and contribute to scrap reduction through methodical setup and inspection of parts. Consideration for safety and process improvements is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with plastic extrusion processes and quality systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up extrusion machinery and downstream equipment.
• Operate extrusion lines with multiple materials and configurations.
• Clean equipment and tools used in the process.
• Document set-up and quality system paperwork accurately.
• Identify and fix problems; train others as needed.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance.
• Fill in for operators during breaks.
• Inspect parts and approve profiles against specs.
• Report equipment or material issues to maintenance.
• Update set-up sheets and related documentation.
