Job summary
The Chemours Company in Newark, DE is seeking an Associate Scientist in extrusion science to advance polymer processing and extrusion technology within Titanium Technologies. You will run lab-scale and pilot-scale extrusion, prepare formulations, maintain equipment, and document results for ongoing development projects.
You will collaborate with R&D teams to drive scale-up, process optimization, and application testing across plastics systems, contributing to a safe, productive lab environment
Qualifications
- This role requires hands-on extrusion and polymer processing experience.
- Ability to collect and interpret extrusion data and material performance.
- Strong collaboration across R&D, engineers and technicians.
- Commitment to safe laboratory operations and SOPs.
Responsibilities
- Support product development in Titanium Technologies for plastics and polymer processing.
- Operate lab-scale and pilot-scale extrusion systems with setup, start-up, steady-state operation, shutdown and cleaning.
- Prepare polymer, pigment, and additive formulations for extrusion trials.
- Maintain equipment through inspection, cleaning, preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Document observations and communicate results to project teams.
- Assist scale-up, process optimization, and application testing.
- Apply polymer processing knowledge to ensure reliable experiments.
