Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking an engineer to lead extrusion process technologies and support manufacturing operations. You will apply structured problem solving, root-cause analysis, and DMAIC to resolve process and equipment challenges while collaborating with Division Engineering and Development teams.

The role emphasizes developing technical documentation, training personnel, and ensuring safety and quality. Minimal travel and a focus on continuous improvement are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1–3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude in machining process engineering.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and implement improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, PCPD, DMAIC, data analysis, and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership for extrusion process technologies to support daily operations.
• Support new die introductions including equipment installation, process certification, and documentation.
• Develop detailed technical documentation and train operators on new equipment and processes.
• Lead or contribute to projects using DOE, DMAIC, and cost-reduction initiatives.
