Job summary

Nanshan America AAT LLC is seeking an Extrusion Associate to operate and maintain extrusion equipment that shapes aluminum billets into bars, tubes, and profiles. The role covers 2nd and 3rd shifts in Lafayette, Indiana, and involves setting up presses, handling dies and tooling, and ensuring production targets are met.

The successful candidate will have 1–2 years of manufacturing experience, the ability to stand for long periods, and safe forklift operation training.

Qualifications

• Read measuring devices (tape measure).
• 1–2 years manufacturing experience.
• Able to stand all day.
• Able to perform entry into the machine following lock out/tag out.
• Able to drive a forklift after training.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion press to shape billets into bars, tubing, profiles, and rods.
• Install dies and press tools according to product size and type.
• Operate automated equipment to maintain steady billet flow from furnace.
• Control extrusion rate to meet quality and production metrics.
• Manage run-out table and butt shear for proper extrusion handling.
• Record data in EPICS (crew time, billets used, items processed).
• Assist with forklift as needed for material handling.
• Continually seek ways to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and hygiene.
