Job summary

Boyd is seeking an Extrusion Operator at our Elkhart, Indiana facility. No prior experience is required as on-the-job training will be provided. You will operate extrusion equipment, ensure part quality, and comply with procedures.

The role requires standing for 10 hours, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs, and contributing to a fast-paced team focused on meeting customer requirements with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand 10 hours, bend, twist, lift up to 50 lbs, and read work orders.
• Ability to stand for a 10-hour shift, which may include bending, twisting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read a work order, use a tape measure, and preferred caliper/micrometer experience.
• Prior extrusion experience is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality parts; inspect and approve profiles to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Inspect the quality of materials and alert Production Supervisor to issues immediately.
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and timely.
• Inspect the quality of the machinery and report equipment failures to Maintenance.
• Ensure that all shift paperwork is accurate and complete.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
