Job description

VEKA is a member of the modern, family-owned global VEKA group, the world's largest extruder of vinyl lineals for the window and door industry. With more than 5,000 skilled personnel employed worldwide, VEKA serves customers in over 30 countries.

The available position requires the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, in addition to working injury-free and following workplace/plant safety practices and procedures. Applicants must be available to work rotating shifts (including holidays).

Pre-employment testing includes controlled substances and background check.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe production of extrusion profiles that meet or exceed VEKA Inc. standards in quality and output levels in a timely manner. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Responsible for adhering to all Safety Policies & Procedures.
2. Operate assigned extruders to produce profiles that meet established quality standards.
3. Responsible for the proper set-up and start-up of production machines.
4. Responsible for making process adjustments as required to established running and quality specifications.
5. Responsible for the profile production during shift, ensuring that it meets or exceeds VEKA Inc’s established quality standards.
6. Responsible for proper packaging in accordance with VEKA standards.
7. Responsible for in-process inspection and documentation of profiles during shift. This includes the use of calipers, scales, tape measure, and other tools.
8. Responsible for properly preparing the QA samples on time every time.
9. Responsible for verifying that the profile meets or exceeds the customer expectations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must have experience in industrial machine operation, and ability to set process parameters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GED or High School Education.
