Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Extrusion Operator for the Lexington, NC area to fabricate and assemble window components in a fast-paced environment. The role includes operating a Drexel forklift to move finish material, labeling and inventory scanning, and loading/unloading trucks.

Expect physical labor, standing for long shifts, and adherence to safety protocols. The position pays $17.00 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Familiarity with using and reading calipers.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble.
• Cross-training in multiple functions within and between departments.
• Employees stand or walk on a concrete floor for up to a 12-hour shift.
• Lifting requirements: up to 20 lbs frequently; 40 lbs occasionally for light production; 40 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally for heavy production.

Shifts Available:8 Hour 2nd Shift. Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Pay Rate:$17.00 an hour plus a $1.00 Shift Differential

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Extrusion Operator is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.
• Operator will run a Drexel Forklift to move finish material of Vinyl into warehouse.
• Operator will make labels material and scan in inventory.
• Operator will load trucks and unload trucks of finish material.
• Operator will be responsible for weighting up scrap racks and boxes from finish area.

Qualifications

• Lifting requirements: 20 lbs. frequently; 40 lbs. occasionally for light production; and 40 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally for heavy production.
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Familiarity with using and reading calipers
• Have the ability to operate hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble.
• Have the ability to be cross-trained in multiple functions within and between multiple department lines.
• Employees are required to stand or walk on a concrete floor surface for up to a twelve-hour shift.
