Quanex is seeking an Extruder Operator Trainee to join our Lamination team in Winnebago, Illinois. You will operate and maintain lamination machines to produce window and door parts according to customer specs with minimal waste.

Training is provided; the shift runs 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday, with regular overtime on weekdays and Saturdays. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour plus benefits and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High school degree, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating machinery in manufacturing is preferred.
• Good reading ability and basic math skills, including reading blueprints and other docs.
• Strong problem-resolution skills with ability to offer solutions for basic issues.
• Basic computer proficiency to log into systems and enter data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Attending work on time and for scheduled hours.
• Identify material requirements for producing finished product.
• Refer to the schedule for mitering material for proper cut lengths.
• Perform quality checks while maintaining tolerances.
• Change out fixtures promptly to maintain steady production.
• Identify defects and prevent defects from reaching customers.
• Follow all safety procedures and notify supervisor of any safety issues.

Quanex is looking for an Extruder Operator Trainee to join our Lamination team located in Winnebago, Illinois.

The Extruder Operator Trainee works as part of a small team, to run and maintain assigned lamination machines to produce quality window and door parts, wrapping profiles, in accordance with customer specifications with minimal waste.

This department typically works 6:45 am - 3:15 pm, Monday - Friday. The team frequently works OT during the week and on Saturdays.

Your Credentials

• Basic computer proficiency with the ability to log into systems and enter data accurately

Starting Salary: $17.50/hour
