Job summary

Southwire Company in Carrollton, GA seeks an Operator, Extruder 1 to set up and run extrusion lines, including nylon extruders, pay-offs and take-ups. The two-person line requires attention to wire size, insulation thickness and print quality.

The role demands reading production orders, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs; bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Follow ISO quality processes and safety rules to deliver consistent cable products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Able to stand and lift up to 45 lbs.
• Able to read and comprehend production orders.
• Basic math skills.
• Must follow safety rules and 5S standards.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision and communicate with the supervisor and peers.
• Set up extrusion line and equipment with correct tip, die, and wire size.
• Maintain correct wire size, insulation thickness, and concentricity.
• Apply correct print on cable quality.
• Observe safety rules and maintain housekeeping.
• Use correct compounds and color concentrate.
• Minimize wire and compound loss during start-up and changeovers.
• Manage daily WIP tag inventory.
