Job summary

Calmont Wire & Cable is seeking an Extruder Operator for its California facility. This role involves operating and setting up extrusion equipment, ensuring material readiness, and contributing to continuous improvement in a custom manufacturing environment serving high-tech applications.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, experience with extrusion processes, can read specifications, and can lift up to 50 lbs while standing all day.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator.
• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with plastics extrusion preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand 8 hours.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, 5S and LEAN.
• Team-oriented and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out production, inspection, and machine operation duties
• Set up machines and ensure materials are readily available
• Effectively monitor production equipment
• Participate in daily team meetings
• Assist manufacturing personnel from other departments
• Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management
• Interface with QA for workmanship and quality requirements
• Maintain and continuously improve a safe and clean work space
• Continuously improve manufacturing processes
• Follow established safety rules and regulations
