Job summary

Cerro Wire LLC, part of Marmon Holdings, invites applications for a Wire Extrusion Machine Operator. You will set up extrusion, armoring, and coiling machines, monitor performance, and ensure products meet specifications.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, perform quality checks, and participate in safety and Lean initiatives. This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work with confidence in a team-based setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a machine operator.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment.
• Strong math skills (basic arithmetic).
• Basic computer skills.
• Troubleshooting skills a plus.
• Material handling experience a plus.
• Color vision required.

Responsibilities

• Set up extrusion, armoring, and coiling machines per product specs.
• Select correct tooling for the job.
• Set controls for temperature, speed, and PVC/Nylon thickness.
• Splice and weld wire ends.
• String up machine.
• Measure and inspect extruded products for defects and conformance.
• Check wire quality in color print and cosmetics.
• Move materials with hoist, crane, or forklift.
• Observe operations to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
• Update GEMBA boards as required.
• Participate in Lean events and safety audits.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
