Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America is seeking an Extrusion Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor wire and cable extrusion lines. You will ensure insulation/jacket quality, perform routine checks, and collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to meet goals.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow work orders with safety as a top priority. Shift: Mon-Fri, 3:00pm-11:00pm.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Experience operating production machinery in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read work orders and follow instructions precisely.
• Basic math skills and ability to record measurements accurately.
• Comfort with using measuring tools and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines and related equipment.
• Load materials into production equipment per work orders.
• Adjust temperature, line speed, and material feed to maintain quality.
• Perform routine quality checks on insulation/jacket thickness and diameter.
• Identify and troubleshoot extrusion issues and equipment malfunctions.
• Conduct production changeovers and document output and scrap.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Communicate issues and shift updates to supervisors.
