Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to set up and run high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to specified dimensions. You will follow safety rules, calibrate machines, and monitor quality during production.

The role requires basic math, knowledge of measuring tools, and the ability to maintain tooling while reporting variances. This onsite position offers stability and growth within a leading steel tubular products company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform math and measurements.
  • Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Advanced set up and calibration of all equipment.
  • Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after running material.
  • Record and report any deficiencies in quality to the supervisor/quality department.
  • Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.
  • Diagnose equipment and quality problems while keeping scrap and delays to a minimum.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safe.
  • Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.
  • Assist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.
  • Participation in continuous improvement programs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
