Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion lines (up to 3”) and winding equipment.
  • Control heat zones and program inkjet product codes.
  • Maintain equipment per specs and safety standards.
  • Perform caliper-based measurements for quality checks.
  • Ensure 100% traceability by matching labels to Traveler records.
  • Follow safety procedures including LOTO during setup.
  • Package final product and palletize as required.
  • Mentor extrusion Assistants to hit production targets.

We are looking for a Extruder Operator to run our high-tech production lines. This isn't just a manual labor job; it’s a technical role where you are the final authority on quality. If you have a \"measure twice, cut once\" mentality and want to work in an environment where precision is the top priority, we want to talk to you.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Machine Operation & SetupExpertly operate extrusion lines (up to 3”) and manage high-capacity 72-inch winding equipment.Control precise heat zones (4–8 zones) and program digital inkjet systems for product coding.Maintain equipment integrity by following manufacturer specs and company safety standards.Quality & Traceability (ISO 9001)Perform precision testing using calipers to verify diameter, wall thickness, and conductor centering.Master 100% traceability by matching every spool’s physical label to its digital \"Traveler\" record.Ensure safety compliance by using spark boxes to detect and resolve insulation defects instantly.Safety & MaintenanceAdhere to all safety requirements and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) during setup and maintenancePerform basic preventative maintenance and daily machine cleaning to ensure peak performance.Logistics & LeadershipManage final packaging including professional cable wrapping and standardized palletizing.Mentor the team by cross-training Extrusion Assistants to hit production targets.Maintain flawless records including production logs, labels, and technical documentation.Required Qualifications:Detail-OrientedComfortable using basic math and are willing to learn how to use precision tools like calipers to measure product thickness.Comfortable using computers or touchscreens to enter data.Ability to write clearly and legibly to keep track of production numbers and labels.Track record of being on time and ready to work for every shift.Eager to build new skills, ask questions when you're unsure, and take pride in the quality of your work.Coachability to follow instructions well, listen to feedback, and are happy to help your teammates when needed.Initiative to keep your workstation tidy and organized without being asked.Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and calm when production priorities change.Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures.Compensation & Benefits:Starting Pay: $24 per hourWe offer a competitive salary based on experience along with a comprehensive benefits package, including:Health, Dental, and Vision InsuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Life InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Long- and Short-Term DisabilityAccident & Critical Illness InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)11 Paid Holidays401(k) with company matchCareer development and advancement opportunitiesShift Opportunities:First Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm, Mon-FriSecond Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Mon-Fri (+ $2.50)Third Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am, Mon-Fri (+ $3.25)A Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm, Mon-ThuB Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am, Mon-Thu (+ $3.25)
