Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, start-up, and shutdown of primary extrusion lines.
• Operate extrusion equipment including extruders, payoffs, take-ups, cooling troughs, and spark testers.
• Monitor parameters such as temperature zones, line speed, pressure, and material flow.
• Load and stage resins, compounds, conductors, and reels.
• Perform basic equipment adjustments under supervision per SOPs.
• Inspect in-process and finished product for surface defects, diameter, wall thickness, and color consistency.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify specs.
• Complete production reports, quality checks, and material traceability documentation.
• Maintain 5S cleanliness and organization; communicate issues to extrusion lead or supervisor.

This position supports the extrusion process used to apply insulation or jacketing materials to wire and cable products. The operator works closely with senior operators, technicians, and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing while developing their skills and knowledge in extrusion operations.
