Advanced Digital Cable, Inc. in Hayesville, NC is seeking a detail-oriented Extruder Assistant to join our manufacturing team.

If you enjoy working with your hands, operating high-tech machinery, and ensuring products are built to perfect specifications, this is the role for you. Extruder is the process of shaping material by forcing it through a machine to create a continuous jacket around wires and cables.

Responsibilities

• Machine Coordination: manage Take-Up machines—large motorized reels that wind the finished cable, ensuring proper tension and shipment readiness.
• Precision Testing: use calipers to verify wall thickness and compliance with safety specifications.
• Digital Branding: program inkjet systems to print safety codes and branding on the cable jacket.
• Quality Verification: ensure every foot of cable is built to spec, labeled correctly, and packaged securely.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-orientedExtruderAssistantto join our manufacturing team. If you enjoy working with your hands,operatinghigh-tech machinery, and ensuring products are built to perfect specifications, this is the role for you.Extruderis the process of shapingmaterial byforcing it through a machine to create a continuous shape—in our case, the protective "jacket" or coating that goes around wires and cables.As an ExtruderAssistant, you will support the Lead Operator in running a high-speed production line that transforms raw materials into finished industrial cables.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Machine Coordination:You’llmanage "Take-Up" machines—large motorizedreels that neatly wind the finished cable as it comes off the line—ensuring the tension isperfectand the product is ready for shipping.
• Precision Testing: Using specialized tools like calipers (digital measuring devices), you will verify that the cable walls are the exact thicknessrequiredfor safety and performance.
• Digital Branding: You will program inkjet systems to print vital safety codes and branding directly onto the cable jacket.
• Quality Verification:Ensure that every foot of cablecreatedis built to exact specifications, labeled correctly, and packaged securely.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour (notice shift differentials below)

Shift Opportunities

• First Shift:7:00am - 3:00pm, Mon-Fri
• Second Shift:3:00pm - 11:00pm, Mon-Fri (+$2.50)
• Third Shift:11:00pm - 7:00am, Mon-Fri (+$3.25)
