Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Advisor for Athletics/Activities to coordinate and supervise extracurricular programs district-wide. This role focuses on expanding opportunities and fostering leadership skills in students through after-school activities and events.

The position reports to the AD and requires collaboration with staff, parents, and students while ensuring safety, budget accountability, and program evaluation for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and supervises extracurricular activities after school hours.
• Actively promotes the program and seeks student participation.
• Attends all activity meetings and in-school events and supervises students on related field trips and other out-of-school functions.
• Ensures the safety of the students and maintains responsibility for the security of equipment and facilities.
• Prepares the activity budget, orders necessary supplies and equipment and maintains appropriate records related to activity expenses and revenues.
• Oversees the development, production and distribution of any product produced by the student(s).
• Arranges for any necessary transportation or scheduling of competition related to this activity.
• Evaluates the program annually and makes recommendations for improvements as needed.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Activities.
