As an Accountant at Ace, you will assist with the accounting close on a monthly basis for the departments assigned and assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly internal and external reporting requirements. These tasks are required to provide internal and external constituents with information on the current financial state of the Company.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in the preparation and tie-out of assigned sections of the Quarterly and Annual Report. A press release and financial report (similar to a 10Q or 10K) are compiled each quarter and distributed to the public. This involves a good understanding of financial reporting requirements as prescribed by US GAAP. Cross-functional teamwork is necessary to accomplish this task as is the continued focus on accuracy.
• Responsible for the monthly close tasks (journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and management inquiries) associated with the assigned functional areas within Ace. Identify, propose, and implement process improvements or to simplify or streamline the process and ensure accuracy in the accounting.
• Upload of the monthly results from each subsidiary into SAP. This requires an understanding of a trial balance and posting a journal entry into SAP Assist with the preparation of internal management reporting on a monthly basis. A PowerPoint deck is prepared for each subsidiary on a monthly basis. This information is provided to the Officers and Board of Directors. The single most important trait is making sure that all information is accurately presented.

• Work closely with and meet the needs of the Company’s external auditors. The external auditors request a great deal of information each quarter and at year end. This role is responsible for the preparation of many of these materials as well as answering ad hoc questions and requests.
• Preparation of government reports. Over the course of the year, multiple reporting requests are made of the Company by government agencies. This role will compile and submit the information required.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Strong Excel, Power Point and Word skills
• 1-3 years of prior experience and preferably some time spent in public accounting or external reporting
