Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is partnering with a Fortune-recognized industry leader to recruit an External Financial Reporting Manager in Fort Wayne, IN. The role replaces a long-tenured accounting leader and offers exposure to executive leadership and the Audit Committee.

You will lead the monthly consolidation, SEC reporting, internal controls, and SOX governance while mentoring the accounting team and driving strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• CPA certification and public accounting experience required.
• Strong SEC reporting, US GAAP and SOX knowledge.
• Experience with financial consolidation and external reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial consolidation and external/internaI reporting.
• Manage SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) and related schedules.
• Serve as liaison with external auditors during reviews and audits.
• Oversee internal controls and SOX compliance; governance of financial reporting.
• Support executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic initiatives.
• Lead and develop accounting staff including consolidation team members.

Total Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 (Base Salary + Bonus)

Key Responsibilities for the External Financial Reporting Manager:

• Lead the monthly financial consolidation process and internal/external financial reporting activities.
• Manage SEC reporting, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other required filings.
• Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Oversee internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial reporting governance processes.
• Support executive leadership through financial analysis, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead and develop accounting staff, including oversight of consolidation team members.

Qualifications for the External Financial Reporting Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred, ideally at the Manager or Senior Manager level supporting public company clients.
• Strong SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, SOX, and financial consolidation experience.
• Experience with large public company reporting environments preferred.
