Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking an Analyst, External Reporting to join the Chief Accounting Officer & External Reporting team in Hershey, PA. You will support SEC reporting, GAAP compliance, and monthly close processes, helping ensure accurate disclosures and strong internal controls.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and familiarity with SAP/Group Reporting and Workiva; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
• CPA preferred or pursuit of CPA.
• Experience in financial analysis and SEC reporting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support SEC reporting activities, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, as well as financial statements, disclosures, MD&A, and XBRL tagging.
• Analyze financial results and explain significant balance sheet and income statement variances.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing Investor Relations and quarterly earnings release materials.
• Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting documentation; maintain leases, derivatives, FX contracts, and other corporate accounting areas.
• Maintain accounting policies, SOX documentation, and materials supporting internal controls and audit requirements; monitor FASB and SEC developments and assess impacts.
