Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina, KS, is seeking an External Logistics Manager to join our operations. This on-site role reports to the Director of Procurement and Production Control and leads the external logistics team to plan, direct, and optimize transportation and distribution.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or substantial logistics management experience, a proven ability to manage vendors, and strong analytical skills to improve cost efficiency and service levels while

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4–10 years in logistics/management.
Experience leading logistics or transportation teams, including coaching and delegation of responsibilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review logistics performance, expenses, and forecast data.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and coordinate external logistics activities.
Review analysis of logistic results, expenses, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward goals.
Lead External Logistics team including delegating responsibilities and training on new processes and software.
Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure smooth performance aligned to GPM requirements.
Represent the organization with customers, suppliers, and Kubota groups.
Follow safety regulations and wear prescribed safety equipment.
