Summary
As the External Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication initiatives that inform, engage, and inspire employees at all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Communications leadership, you will ensure external messaging is clear, compelling, and aligned with business priorities, while also supporting executive communications. This role requires a strategic thinker, expert storyteller, and skilled collaborator who can translate complex business information into impactful messaging that fosters alignment and a strong company culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic External Communications: Develop and implement communication plans that drive employee engagement, reinforce company values, and support organizational objectives.
- Executive Messaging: Partner with senior leadership and C-suite executives to craft compelling speeches, presentations, and internal announcements that enhance leadership visibility and trust.
- Content Development: Write, edit, and manage a variety of communication materials, including company-wide emails, newsletters, internal blogs, leadership updates, and intranet content.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Human Resources, Sales, and Operations to ensure messaging consistency and alignment across the organization.
- Change Management Communication: Support leadership in driving organizational change by developing clear and effective messaging around company initiatives, restructuring, or cultural transformations.
- Employee Engagement & Culture Building: Develop campaigns and initiatives that enhance internal culture, foster employee recognition, and improve two-way communication between leadership and employees.
- Metrics & Insights: Monitor, analyze, and report on communication effectiveness, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize engagement strategies.
- Industry & Trends Awareness: Stay ahead of emerging communication trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance external engagement strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of corporate communications experience, preferably in a fast-paced, global organization. MUST HAVE 3-5 YEARS OF PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERIENCE NON NEGOTIABLE
- Proven success in external communication strategies that drive employee engagement and cultural alignment.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with experience crafting executive-level communications.
- Experience managing cross-functional communication initiatives and change management efforts.
- Familiarity with IT solutions, technology, or professional services industries is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and internal communication platforms.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with senior leaders, providing strategic communication counsel and execution.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to craft messaging that resonates across diverse employee groups.
