Job summary

General Motors' Warren Technical Center is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for Body Exterior commodities. You will partner with GM Purchasing, Product Engineering, and the supplier base to drive APQP, PPAP, and RCCA actions across launch, current production, and warranty.

The role requires 2+ years in quality or manufacturing, GD&T proficiency, root cause analysis, and strong communication. Travel up to NA; hybrid work with on-site supplier visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in quality, engineering and/or manufacturing.
• Experience with APQP deliverables, PPAP, Run at Rate/capacity planning and recovery actions.
• Ability to troubleshoot dimensional, fit and finish, gap/flush and gage issues at supplier/plant locations.
• Print reading, GD&T, and measurement interpretation proficiency.
• Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing/assembly processes and quality systems.
• Ability to lead multi-project efforts with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assure supplier understanding of APQP processes and PPAP approvals.
• Review/approve supplier quality plans for new components and launches.
• Review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Lead root cause and corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
• Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause verification.
• Implement/monitor supplier part qualification and certification (PPAP, Run at Rate).
• Drive supplier quality improvements with workshops and technical support.
