Magna Exteriors in Troy, MI seeks an Integrated Lighting Systems Engineer to lead the development of exterior lighting solutions. You will collaborate across styling, product engineering, electronics, optics, and manufacturing teams, ensuring traceable system definitions, compliant design, and effective validation

Qualifications

• Requires systems engineering approach to design exterior lighting.
• Experience with lighting integration in automotive environments preferred.
• Fluent English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead definition, development, and integration of exterior lighting features.
• Translate requirements into system specifications and SOW/SoR for lighting systems.
• Cascade requirements to optical, electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
• Support concept development for new lighting solutions (grilles, light guides, animations, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with regulations, cost, timing, safety, and manufacturability.
• Prepare and maintain system docs, DFMEA, DVP&R, and validation plans.
• Apply ISO 26262/ASPICE practices and lead system-level trade-offs.
