Advantage Technical in Dearborn, MI is seeking an Exterior Lighting Engineer to design, develop, and validate exterior lighting components and systems for multiple vehicle programs. You will work with cross-functional teams to bring innovative lighting solutions from concept to production in a fast-paced automotive environment.

The role requires hands-on testing, CAD modeling using CATIA V5 and 3DX, and collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive lighting or product development.
• Proficient in CATIA, Teamcenter, or similar CAD tools.
• Experience with validation, manufacturing processes, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate exterior lighting components and systems.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models using CATIA V5, 3DX, or similar.
• Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Support feasibility studies, cost analyses, and design reviews.
• Collaborate with purchasing, suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
• Review and approve engineering documentation and validation plans.
• Utilize manufacturing knowledge to improve design and manufacturability.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
