Job summary

College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking an ASCSN Extension Campus Senator to promote student life at extension sites and assist students. You will attend required trainings, participate on committees, and oversee by-law processes while ensuring accurate reporting to the Senate.

Responsibilities include presenting to classes monthly, managing hours across events, and working with the Executive Board for approval on activities. A strong commitment to student governance is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
• Semester GPA of 2.25 or higher required.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Serve on at least 1 ASCSN Standing Committee and 2 ASCSN Ad-hoc Committees.
• Approve By-Law legislation with two-thirds vote in ASCSN Senate.
• Pass financial funding items by simple majority in ASCSN Senate.
• Override presidential veto with two-thirds supermajority in ASCSN Senate.
• Commit at least 12 hours per week on senatorial programs/assignments and student assistance.
• Dedicate 2 hours weekly to promote ASCSN and ASCSN events.
• Deliver a brief presentation in 1 class each month about ASCSN.
