Job summary

CSN Extension Campus Senator is a student leadership role focused on promoting student life at extension sites, administering programs and surveys, and gauging the student population. The role also includes attending workshops and student development trainings.

You will serve on committees, oversee By-Law governance, manage senatorial programs, and dedicate weekly hours to campus initiatives, with additional event support as needed.

Qualifications

• Student workers must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester at the applicable campus.
• Maintain a semester GPA of 2.25 or higher each semester.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher overall.
• Attend required in-person training sessions on the dates listed.
• Register for the required coursework by the specified deadlines for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.

Responsibilities

• Serve on at least one ASCSN Standing Committee and two ASCSN Ad-hoc Committees.
• Approve By-Law legislation with a two-thirds majority.
• Pass financial funding items with a simple majority.
• Override a presidential veto with two-thirds supermajority.
• Dedicate 12 hours weekly on senatorial programs and campus assistance.
• May work up to one-third of weekly hours during events.
• Deliver a brief presentation in one class each month about ASCSN.
• Promote ASCSN on a weekly basis with two hours of outreach.
• Address incidents of nonfeasance by reporting or referring to Grievance/Judicial Board.
• Be removed for three unexcused absences in a semester.
• Submit a statement of interests at term start and keep it updated.
• Submit proof of enrollment of at least six credits each semester.
