Job summary

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School (ILCS) seeks an Extended Care Worker to provide before/after school childcare in Batavia, IL. This part-time, non-exempt role reports to the Principal and focuses on safety, supervision and a welcoming environment for children and families.

Responsibilities include implementing engaging activities, maintaining open communication with parents and staff, and upholding ILCS values.

Qualifications

• Active ILCS member preferred or willingness to become one.
• Embrace the mission and ministry of ILCS.
• Be at least 16 years old.
• Strong interpersonal skills with adults and children.
• Ability to safely lift 30 lbs and to stoop/bend.
• Commitment to confidentiality of children, families, staff, and program.
• Background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, supervised care for children in the Extended Care Program.
• Create and implement a varied activities program for students.
• Maintain positive communication with parents, staff and students.
• Model Christian behavior and Gospel sharing as appropriate.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
• Support ILCS team in ministry and collaboration.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Act as a Christian role model for all school and church workers, volunteers, students, and families, sharing the Gospel of Jesus as Savior and Friend2. Embrace, support and participate in the team ministry of ILCS3. Provide for the safety and supervision of each child in the Extended Care Program, using positive guidance techniques to support each child's self-esteem4. Maintain a varied program of activities appropriate for students in a well-ordered environment5. Maintain positive communication with parents, school staff and students6. Provide for the safety and cleanliness of equipment and facilities used for extended care7.
