Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of Rockford seeks a part-time after-school supervisor to provide a safe and supportive environment for students in Sycamore, KY. Hours are 3:00–5:00 pm or 6:00 pm, five days a week during school sessions, and the role reports to the Principal.

Responsibilities include supervising students, taking attendance, distributing snacks, planning activities, supporting instruction and homework, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or childcare/education experience preferred.
• Prior experience with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with school staff.
• Must pass a background check and meet all state and diocesan requirements for working with children.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

• Gather students and take attendance.
• Distribute snacks and milk to students.
• Create activities and prepare materials that are interesting, educational, and safe for students in grades Preschool through 5th grade.
• Support students who need help with instruction, homework, and activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Before/After School (Extended Care Duties):

• Supervise students in the extended care program during designated hours.
  
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate games, activities, and quiet time.
  
• Ensure student safety and adherence to school behavioral expectations.
  
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records as required.
  
• Communicate effectively with parents during pick-up and drop-off.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
