Job summary

The International School of San Francisco is looking for an Extended Care Program Monitor to oversee our after-school program for students in grades K-5. This role requires supervising children during various activities, planning fun and safe age-appropriate experiences, and communicating with parents and staff.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, proactive, and has strong teamwork and communication skills. Compensation for this full-time role is $25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, proactive, and a fast learner.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience developing age-appropriate activities for children ages 5-10 (preferred but not required).
• Fluency in French is a plus (not required).
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Live-scan background check and TB clearance required.

• Supervise children indoors and outdoors during sports, arts, crafts, and other activities.
• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and school staff.
• Oversee arrival, dismissal, and overall schedules for students.
• Resolve conflicts and facilitate social and emotional learning.
• Set up, take down, and maintain cleanliness of the program space.

Position Overview

• Monitor an extended‑care program for approximately 30 students, grades K‑5.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver a safe, fun, and caring after‑school environment.

Schedule

• Approx. 30 hours per week during the school year.

Lunch / Break Times

• Lunch: 11:00 – 13:00
• Recess: 13:30 – 14:30
• After‑school: 15:00 – 18:00

Full‑time work during week‑long school breaks.
