Job summary

SPCS Extended Care Program in Tacoma invites applications for an Extended Care Aide. The role offers afternoon hours (3 pm–6 pm), with flexibility in scheduling, at a pay rate of $17 per hour. This part-time position is not eligible for benefits.

Alumni or those with Catholic education experience may be prioritized. The program aims to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children participate in activities and receive school-based support.

Qualifications

• Age requirement: 16 years old +
• Previous childcare experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Monitor children at all times to ensure a safe and nurturing environment
• Follow program rules and expectations for behavior consistently
• Maintain proper ratios in compliance with DCYF requirements
• Assist and facilitate appropriate activities (arts, crafts, games)
• Model respectful, inclusive behavior for all children
• Support positive social interactions
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and the program director regarding children’s needs or concerns
• Maintain professionalism when interacting with families during pick-up times
• Report any accidents, injuries, or behavioral incidents to the supervisor
• Help set up and clean activity areas before and after use
• Supervise indoor and outdoor play, ensure safe practices
• Help serve snacks
• Support the emotional well-being of children through positive interactions and relationship building

Job Details: Job Location: 1147 St. Patrick School, Tacoma - Tacoma, WA 98403, Salary Range: $17.13 - $17.13 Hourly, Extended Care Aide

SPCS Extended Care Program is seeking applicants to fill openings as extended care aides. Hours can be flexible, but will primarily be 3 pm - 6 pm.

The primary goal of the SPCS Extended Care Program is to provide a safe environment for students that allows them to participate in a variety of activities and continue the support and help they receive at school.

Salary: $17/hour.

Child Care

Compensation: $17/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills, and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

This position is part-time and is not eligible for benefits.
