The Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) is seeking a compassionate Expressive Activity Therapist to join our Behavioral Health team on a PRN basis. You will provide recreational and expressive therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, assessing needs and delivering structured activities to support recovery.

As a CTRS with DC license, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document progress, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field.
• Current CTRS certification and DC license eligibility.
• At least one year of experience as a Recreational Therapist.
• Knowledge of therapeutic recreation standards, group dynamics, patient assessment and clinical documentation.

Responsabilités

• Plan, facilitate, and evaluate recreational and expressive therapy activities.
• Complete therapeutic assessments and identify appropriate interventions.
• Establish supportive therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups in a structured, safe environment.
• Document participation, response to treatment, and progress toward goals.
• Communicate clinical observations to the treatment team.
• Maintain clinical documentation and professional standards.
