Job summary

Parkridge Valley Child & Adolescent Campus, part of Parkridge Health System, seeks a PRN Activity Therapist to provide expressive therapy using art, music, dance, poetry, writing and drama to help patients identify and express feelings.

You will complete assessments, lead group and individual sessions, document promptly, and collaborate with clinicians to meet treatment goals in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or Recreation Therapy required.
• BLS and NVIC certifications must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• MT-BC, ATR-BC, or CTRS certification may be required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete expressive therapy assessments.
• Provide group and individual expressive therapy sessions.
• Display professionalism with patients, staff and clinicians.
• Complete assignments and documentation in a timely manner.
• Follow hospital policies and attend weekly meetings and supervision.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet treatment goals.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
