Job summary

Morrie’s Hyundai in Peoria, IL is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions and electrical systems. This full-time role requires evaluating vehicle performance, using diagnostic tools, and delivering accurate repair estimates.

You will test drives and inspect critical components as part of routine maintenance and complex repairs. Occupational requirements include a clean driving record, valid license, and ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• Entry-level friendly; working knowledge of cars preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Flexible hours and Saturdays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes and related components.
• Test to ensure systems and components are secure and functioning.
• Drive vehicles for testing or use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Follow checklists to inspect critical parts of the vehicle.
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other potential issues.
• Use power tools and machine tools for components repair or rebuilding.
• Prepare vehicle damage repair estimates.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for diagnosing and repairing problems with the engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar systems.-
• Testing to check whether systems and components are secure and are working properly.
• Driving the vehicle for testing purposes or using various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges or diagnostic computers.
• Maintaining efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles.
• Following a checklist in ensuring that, they examine each critical part of the vehicle.
• Watching or inspecting closely parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other possible troublesome items.
• Using power tools like pneumatic wrenches in order to remove bolts easily and quickly.
• Using machine tools, such as grinding machines and lathes to rebuild brakes.
• Using common hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers, to work on small-scale parts.
• Writing vehicle damage repair estimates
