Job summary

Morrie’s 394 Hyundai in Saint Louis Park, MN is seeking a full-time automotive technician. You will diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and related components, test drives, and document repair estimates.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose automotive issues and determine needed repairs.
• Strong mechanical understanding and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow shop procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and related components.
• Test to ensure systems and parts are secure and functioning properly.
• Drive vehicles for testing or use diagnostic equipment, gauges, and computers.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Follow a checklist to examine critical parts of the vehicle.
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other items for issues.
• Use power tools to remove bolts and rebuild components.
• Utilize machine tools to rebuild brakes.
• Use hand tools to work on components.
• Prepare and write damage repair estimates.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for diagnosing and repairing problems with the engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar systems.-
• Testing to check whether systems and components are secure and are working properly.
• Driving the vehicle for testing purposes or using various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges or diagnostic computers.
• Maintaining efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles.
• Following a checklist in ensuring that, they examine each critical part of the vehicle.
• Watching or inspecting closely parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other possible troublesome items.
• Using power tools like pneumatic wrenches in order to remove bolts easily and quickly.
• Using machine tools, such as grinding machines and lathes to rebuild brakes.
• Using common hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers, to work on small-scale parts.
• Writing vehicle damage repair estimates
