Job summary

Carter Machinery, Inc. is seeking an Express Lube Technician for our Richmond, Virginia location. This 3rd-shift role starts at $20.83–$38.28 per hour, plus shift differential, and offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus for new hires.

You will lubricate moving parts, inspect fluid levels, inject grease, and perform basic diagnostics using CAT SOS and CAT Inspect. A high school diploma or GED and strong mechanical aptitude are required, along with a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain CDL/DOT

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to operate equipment at customer sites
• Proficiency with computers, MS Office and service software
• Must be able to work overtime as required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to obtain CDL/DOT certification

Responsibilities

• Lubricate moving parts of machinery with specified lubricants
• Inspect fluid levels in engine, hydraulics, transmission, etc. and top off as needed
• Inject grease into units using hand or air-powered grease gun
• Sample fluids with CAT SOS system and submit to lab for analysis
• Inspect and replace air filters as necessary
• Fuel machines to appropriate levels and monitor utilization
• Prepare and submit detailed service reports and maintain clean records
• Coordinate with team to meet continuous improvement goals
• Inform customers of upcoming service dates and recommendations

Job Title: Express Lube Technician

Location:Richmond, Virginia

Shift: 3rd

Starting Compensation Range: $20.83 - $38.28 per hour + Shift Differential

What You Will Do:

• Lubricate moving parts of various types of machinery with specified lubricants
• Inspect fluid levels for various compartments, including engine, hydraulics, transmission etc. (water, oil and grease) and top off to the appropriate level
• Inject grease into units using hand or compressed- air powered grease gun
• Sample fluid compartments using the CAT SOS system, register samples, and submit to fluid lab for analysis
• Inspect air filters and replace as necessary
• Fuel machines to appropriate levels
• Monitor Vision Link to identify machine utilization of customer equipment and recommend which machines need services
• Fully inspect machines and submit detailed inspections through CAT Inspect
• Inform customer of upcoming service due dates and make recommendation for future service
• Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives
• Perform other related duties as agreed upon with customer

What We’re Looking For:

• Must be 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong mechanical aptitude, with ability to perform responsibilities at customer job site with minimal supervision
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment in the field and on customer job-sites
• Proficiency in use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software required in position
• Must be able to work overtime as required by job and customer demand
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have an excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL or DOT certification
