Job summary

Ourisman Automotive Group in Frederick, MD, offers a structured in-house training program to become a Honda Technician. You will learn under a Honda Master Technician and develop skills through hands-on, mentor-guided modules.

Qualifications

• A strong interest in automotive repair and the ambition to become a Honda Technician.
• Willingness to actively participate in training and apply learned skills to daily tasks.
• Previous experience in an automotive service role is a plus, but not required.
• Basic mechanical skills and an understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks and inspections.
• Familiarity with automotive tools and equipment, with a willingness to learn new technologies and systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections, including MPI/video inspections and customer walkarounds.
• Follow structured training protocols to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Work with mentorship from a Honda Master Technician for long-term career development.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of service bays, tools, and equipment.
• Assist other service technicians and team members to support efficient workflow and high-quality service.
• Participate in hands-on mentorship with structured learning modules.
• Apply Honda-specific training techniques and diagnostic tools in daily tasks.
• Perform tire rotations, balancing, and pressure checks; advise on tire wear.
• Communicate services performed and recommendations to customers.

More About The Role

• Conduct vehicle inspections, including video Multi-Point Inspections (MPI) and customer walkarounds, to identify potential issues or maintenance needs.


• Follow structured training protocols that have been refined over the past three years to enhance technical skills and knowledge.


• Work alongside and receive mentorship from a Honda Master Technician, ensuring a solid foundation for a long-term career in automotive repair.


• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of service bays, tools, and equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions.


• Assist other service technicians and team members as needed to support efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.


• Participate in hands-on mentorship from a Honda Master Technician with structured learning modules.


• Perform process-driven approach to ensure consistency and comprehensive skill development.


• Apply real-world application of Honda-specific training techniques and diagnostic tools.


• Conduct tire rotations, balance tires, and check tire pressure, advising on tire condition and wear.


• Communicate with customers to explain services performed and provide recommendations for additional maintenance.


• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
